Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking Registered Nurse to join the Ophthalmology Service at NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital.

The Eye Centre is a bespoke, purpose built center, integrating Ophthalmology Out Patient Clinics, Pre & post Op areas and Ophthalmology Theatres. The new unit aims to ensure a high level of quality and provision of elective Cataract services to meet the demands of an aging population.

The post holder should possess a caring and compassionate demeanor towards patients and staff, good communication skills, and display a “Can Do” attitude. The post holder must be able to priorities conflicting demands to deliver patient and service needs.

The Eye Centre Clinical Education and Nurse Management Team will support the successful candidate to achieve all aspects of the role requirements.

The Eye Centre is supported by the Eye Centre Clinical Education and Nurse Management Team.

• Provide nursing care within the Ophthalmology service, supporting elective Cataract services and related processes.
• Demonstrate caring and compassionate patient and staff interactions, effective communication, and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands to deliver patient and service needs.
• Collaborate with the Eye Centre Clinical Education and Nurse Management Team to achieve role requirements.

• Registered Adult Nurse with a First Level nursing degree (or equivalent).
• Ophthalmology theatre and/or clinic experience is desirable but not essential.

• This post is offered on a fixed term or secondment basis for 12 months.
