Job Overview
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for ensuring that software solutions, enterprise systems, and technology-enabled projects meet defined quality standards before deployment. This role conducts detailed testing activities, validates solution functionality, manages defects, and supports the successful delivery of technology projects across the enterprise portfolio. The QA Analyst works closely with project managers, business analysts, solution architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with business requirements.
ResponsibilitiesTest Planning & Strategy
- Participate in project planning to understand technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and business processes.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test eliminations for project initiatives.
- Identify test coverage needs including functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Create, maintain, and execute detailed test cases, scripts, and scenarios based on business and technical specifications.
- Conduct manual and/or automated tests depending on the project and tooling.
- Validate accuracy, system functionality, workflow behavior, and integrations with other enterprise systems.
- Document test results, track outcomes, and ensure defects are logged thoroughly and accurately.
- Log and prioritize defects using enterprise defect tracking tools (e.g., Wrike, Azure Dev Ops, etc.).
- Work closely with developers, architects, and analysts to troubleshoot, reproduce, and resolve issues.
- Perform regression testing after fixes or releases to ensure system stability.
- Ensure testing processes align with EPMO standards, frameworks, and SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
- Support quality checkpoints during stage-gates, release cycles, and project milestone reviews.
- Promote a culture of quality by identifying risks early and recommending mitigation steps.
- Support business teams during User Acceptance Testing by preparing UAT scripts, test data, and training materials.
- Provide coaching on testing best practices to ensure business users.
- Consolidate UAT test results and ensure readiness for go-live approvals.
- Produce clear documentation including test cases, bug reports, traceability matrices, and execution summaries.
- Maintain testing artifacts in appropriate PMO repositories.
- Provide regular test progress and quality metrics to project managers and EPMO leadership.
- Identify opportunities to streamline QA processes and enhance testing effectiveness.
- Recommend improvements to templates, tools, and methodologies used across the EPMO.
- Contribute to automation initiatives and the expansion of test coverage across enterprise systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in software testing, QA analysis, or similar technical testing role.
- Experience supporting technology projects within a PMO, EPMO, or enterprise-level environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, SaaS platforms, integrations, data pipelines).
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC, and QA best practices.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Experience with SQL for validating data is a plus.
- Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Tosca, etc.) beneficial.
- Understanding APIs, integrations, and cloud solutions is advantageous.
