Embark on a Journey of Impactful Adventure

Manages the implementation, development and delivery of various program area(s) and/or membership. Areas of focus may be health/wellness, aquatics, teens, childcare, and/or other program area(s). Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include hiring, onboarding and training of staff; curriculum development; budget control; and adhering to all regulatory and Association standards. Assists with annual campaign activities. Considers the size, scope, and budget of program area(s) and branch volume in classification.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, implement, and manage operating plans and delivery to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA.
  • Execute strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Assist in developing and controlling department budgets related to the position as requested by management.
  • Hire, train, onboard and supervise part‑time and full‑time hourly staff and volunteers in assigned areas.
  • Facilitate communication and provide leadership to staff.
  • Assure compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Ensure that program and Association standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensure implementation of high‑quality programs through innovative program development, evaluation and ongoing training of staff.
  • Coordinate special events and activities.
  • Interface with and resolve member concerns to further member engagement.
  • Provide data, rosters, schedules, and reports as required for assigned programs.
  • Establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Play key role in branch annual campaign.
  • Manage payroll for assigned department.
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Four‑year college degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience.
  • Experience directing programs through supervision of volunteers and staff.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations.
  • YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Obtain and maintain all new‑hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
