Overview

I am searching for experienced C# / .NET Software Developers who can use their development skills to produce high quality, innovative solutions for a wide range of customers. You will work openly and collaboratively with a diverse range of technical and subject matter experts within the technology department and throughout the business.

Please note, these roles are offered on a hybrid-working basis. These are NOT remote positions, and you are required in the office two (2) days per week. You must live within a commutable distance of Exeter, Devon, or relocate to the area to be considered.

• Using Agile methodologies for the design, development and acceptance of software solutions.
• Collaborating with the Product Owner to understand customer requirements and inform solution scoping.
• Performing critical assessments, challenging assumptions and identifying appropriate acceptance criteria to mitigate risk.
• Handling requirements analysis, scoping, specification definition, data analysis and project management as needed to meet solution needs.
• Creating production code and conducting code reviews; comfortable working alone or in pairs or mob programming.
  
  Note:
  
  experience of pair programming or mob programming is not required to be considered, but you must be open to this approach as TDD and pairing account for 85% of the day.
• Comprehending and applying established design patterns and best practices, taking responsibility for high quality and efficiency of deliverables.
• Learning and researching solutions, sharing findings with colleagues and customers, and collaborating positively with the team.
• Utilising AI to enhance productivity and efficiency through intelligent task management, seamless communication, and adaptive learning, while using AI as a tool and not for coding.
• Integrating sustainable practices into software development to minimise environmental impact and promote long-term sustainability.

• In-depth commercial experience in Analysis and Design
• C# and MVC
• .NET framework
• SOLID Principles
• Experience in Pair Programming / Mob Programming
• TSQL / SQL
• Test Automation
• TDD
• Refactoring
• Unit Testing / Mocking
• JavaScript frameworks such as React (or similar)
• Experience with ORM (e.g. Entity Framework)
• Agile & Scrum development methodologies
• Strong verbal presentation skills

You will ideally have an IT-related university degree. Any experience with BDD, DDD, Power Shell, Azure/AWS and agentic AI environments (e.g., Copilot, Gemini) is highly desirable.
