Senior Fire and Security Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire & Security Engineer to take a lead role in the installation, servicing and maintenance of fire and electronic security systems across commercial and industrial sites. This is a hands-on position with added responsibility for technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities Lead and carry out the installation, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems. Diagnose and resolve complex faults efficiently across multi-discipline systems. Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) , inspections and testing in line with current British Standards and industry regulations. Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers, promoting best practice and skills development.

Act as a technical point of contact for customers, ensuring a professional and customer-focused service. Accurately complete service reports, certification and system documentation. Participate in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs when required. Work closely with project and operations teams to improve service delivery and operational efficiency. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a senior fire and security engineering role.

Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems . Extensive experience with installation, commissioning, servicing and fault finding . Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership within a team. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach. Good time management and organisational skills. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Devon & Surrounding.

Desirable (Not Essential) Industry qualifications (FIA, NSI, electrical or security-related certifications).
