PositionMulti Skilled Technician (Electrical)
Job DescriptionPermanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You will also be required to participate in an on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager.
- Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all fabric work.
- Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule & liaise with specialist sub-contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance.
- Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, and others, as required.
- Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons.
- Take the lead in electrical stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair.
- Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required and assist with team development including cross-trade skills sharing.
- Participate in an on-call rota.
Fully qualified electrician with one of the following qualifications:
City & Guilds 236 / 2360 / 2365 / 2000 / 2330 / 2397 or equivalent EAL electrical qualification to Year 2 / Level 3 City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Experience in a similar role and environment. Strong communication, IT and organisation skills. Passion to do a great job.
Good understanding of operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems; knowledge of health and safety. Ability to always work safely.
Prepared to work additional hours when needed, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends.
RequirementsCurrent manual UK Driving Licence essential for this role.
