We are seeking a registered Research Nurse to join our clinical research team, supporting the safe and effective delivery of clinical research in line with Good Clinical Practice and the Research Governance Framework.

The post-holder will assist with all aspects of trial delivery, including recruitment, data collection, and participant care, ensuring the rights, safety and wellbeing of participants are prioritised. They will support recruitment targets and performance objectives, and help implement and monitor clinical trial requirements.

Job responsibilities

The Research Nurse will work as part of the clinical research team to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines and provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are protected.

The post-holder will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the clinical requirements associated with research to ensure optimum delivery of clinical trials. S/he will ensure that all research procedures are conducted according to study protocols and will be accountable for the care of research participants with a focus on providing a quality experience.

The post-holder is responsible for his/her own workload for the screening, recruitment, consent, data collection and retention of patients into research studies. Workloads will be flexible and at times will involve cross divisional support of other research teams and a flexible approach to work. On occasion the post-holder will deputise for the band 6 senior research nurse.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday, 8–4.

The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2026-7 rates, inclusive of a 3.3% pay award implemented from April 2026. If you join before this date, remuneration will be based on the 2025-6 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2025/26 | NHS Employers).
