Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Nurse interested in joining our established team in the unique specialty of Endocrinology?
The Royal Devon & Exeter Endocrine Nurse Team are looking to recruit an Endocrine Specialist Nurse to their team of highly enthusiastic and motivated professionals. Our service is dedicated to providing the highest quality Endocrine care to the population of Devon covered by both our Eastern and Northern sites.
The successful candidate will have previous experience within endocrinology, and be responsible for providing clinical expertise to our patient group. They will display excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with integrated care partners as a member of a team as well as autonomously, following a thorough induction period. The successful candidate will strive to promote a culture where care is safe, timely and well‑coordinated for patients with endocrine conditions in our community.
The role will predominantly involve dynamic function testing, and therefore clinical skills of cannulation and venepuncture are essential. The successful candidate will be expected to lead education groups for both patients and staff as their knowledge develops, and previous teaching experience is required. They will participate in offering patient support via the telephone, email and My Care messaging daily.
There will be an initial period of comprehensive training with the Endocrinology Specialist Nurses based in Exeter who will nurture skill development according to established competencies. There is an expectation of collaborative working across sites, with some time spent on site at North Devon District Hospital, however this will not be required more frequently than once a month.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2026-7 rates, inclusive of a 3.3% pay award implemented from April 2026. If you join before this date, remuneration will be based on the 2025-6 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2025/26 | NHS Employers )
