Staff Nurse – Outpatient (Bank) at Exeter Hospital. This position is on a bank/ad‑hoc rota, including weekend work, with a pay rate of up to £21.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Main duties of the job- Deliver excellent patient care.
- Manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced out‑patient environment.
- Take part in a wide range of procedures, manage clinics and use extensive clinical skills to aid recovery.
- Respond instinctively to patients’ and families’ needs, offering comfort and reassurance.
- Collaborate with practitioners in other areas to ensure continuity of care.
- Spend time building rapport with patients to enhance their experience.

About usNuffield Health Exeter Hospital is a modern facility located next to the RD&E Hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital houses two theatres, a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre, an endoscopy suite, an inpatient area with 21 beds, a day‑case ward with 12 beds, and a busy out‑patient department. Services include elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology (including invasive procedures), general surgery, plastic and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology.
We also operate a MAKO robotic system for joint replacement surgery.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and possess the relevant qualifications.
- Post‑registration experience and a team‑player attitude are required.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) check will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
