Location:
Exeter, Devon
Salary: £45,000 – £47,500 per annum
Shift: Weekly three‑shift rotation, Monday to Friday (6am‑2pm, 2pm‑10pm, 10pm‑6am alternately)

About the Role
Butler Rose is proud to be recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on behalf of a leading employer in Exeter. This is a permanent, full‑time opportunity offering a choice of shift patterns and a highly competitive salary package.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimise production downtime by fault finding and resolving equipment breakdowns, preventing reoccurrences.
- Perform preventative and planned maintenance on industrial equipment and building infrastructure.
- Use mechanical and electrical drawings and documentation to undertake fault finding and modifications to industrial machines and equipment.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and eliminating recurring faults.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all company EHS policies.
- Continuously enhance job knowledge through on‑site experience, training, and development opportunities.
Requirements
- Completion of a time‑served apprenticeship with a minimum Level 3 qualification (BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated proficiency in industrial maintenance and fault finding on electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
- Proven competency in reading and interpreting electrical and/or mechanical diagrams, and fault finding in control panels on industrial systems.
- Experience in PLCs, fabrication, welding, or vacuum technology is advantageous.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications is an advantage.
- Resilient, resourceful approach with sound judgement and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to pass a medical assessment, including working at height and in confined spaces.
- Proactive work ethic, strong initiative, and the ability to operate independently within a shift team environment.

Requirements
