Join our Care Home Team in Exeter. Green Tree Court located in Exeter is a luxury, 68-bedroom care home which has achieved the Stirling Gold Standard for dementia design. The home provides a comfortable, safe, stylish environment, for those requiring expert dementia support and nursing care.

Purpose of the role

As a member of the Home’s leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, meaningful, and high‑quality support. Working alongside the Manager and Deputy Manager, you will help shape a compassionate, responsive environment where residents, families, and visitors feel welcomed and valued.

You will lead and coordinate the Integrated Care and Support Worker team on shift, fostering a positive culture that empowers staff to deliver flexible, person‑centred care tailored to each resident’s needs. Through ongoing guidance, supervision, and monitoring, you will help ensure that high standards of practice are consistently upheld in line with the Company’s Quality Assurance framework.

You will contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Home by ensuring resources are used responsibly, achieving value for money in all areas. Your role will also include overseeing the organisation and supervision of key ancillary services – such as catering, domestic support, and maintenance – so that the Home operates smoothly and safely.

With a commitment to sustainability, you will support the Home’s environmental goals by promoting energy‑efficient practices in line with the Company’s environmental policy.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • You will take part in the Company induction to develop the confidence, skills, and knowledge required for the role.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment by supporting and guiding the ICSW team to maintain high standards across the home.
  • Work collaboratively with Company contractors to ensure essential services – such as water, heating, lighting, and ventilation are safely maintained in line with policy.
  • Monitor the quality and condition of décor, furnishings, equipment, and household linen to help uphold a homely environment that meets Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Ensure waste management processes are safe, appropriate, and compliant with Company policy, promoting environmentally responsible practice.
  • Oversee the ordering, receipt, safe storage, and use of cleaning products, supporting staff to use them correctly and responsibly in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
  • Support the implementation of effective pest control measures to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Carry out COSHH risk assessments and ensure staff operate cleaning equipment safely and confidently.
  • Maintain systems for reporting equipment faults and breakdowns, ensuring timely repairs, accurate record‑keeping, and safe operation throughout the home.
  • Keep an updated inventory of furniture and equipment to support effective resource management.
  • Step into practical housekeeping tasks when needed – including cleaning and manual handling, to help ensure the smooth running of the home.
  • Oversee the efficient operation of the laundry service, ensuring staff are trained and equipment is used safely.
  • Monitor the catering service to promote high standards of quality, safety, and resident experience.
  • Ensure statutory documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
