We are recruiting for an experienced Day Shift Team Leader to take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a complex industrial site. This is a senior supervisory role with clear accountability for people, performance, and safety, offering long-term stability and an excellent benefits package.
The Role
As Day Shift Team Leader, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and operational performance. You will lead and develop a multi-skilled team, manage contractors, and act as the senior authorised person on shift, maintaining safe systems of work at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supervising day shift operational teams
* Promoting and embedding a strong safety-first culture
* Managing safe systems of work, permits, and site authorisations
* Coordinating site activities to maximise availability and efficiency
* Managing contractors, visitors, and site inductions
* Carrying out risk assessments and supporting incident investigations
* Supporting continuous improvement across safety, quality, and performance
* Acting as a senior operational point of contact in the absence of the Operations Manager
* Maintaining shift rotas, training records, and competency compliance
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a process, power, or heavy industrial environment
* Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
* Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance
* Experience with safe systems of work, permits, and contractor control
* Confident communicator with good organisational skills
* Engineering qualification such as ONC / HNC (or equivalent)
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable
* Senior Authorised Person experience (mechanical or electrical) advantageous
Package & Benefits
* Salary of £62,000 per year
* Discretionary annual bonus of up to 10%
* Monday–Friday days only
