Job Description & How to Apply Below

For more detail on who we are and how we operate day to day, please see our About section and our Life at Iridium page, which explains how we work at Iridium.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of business analysis and UX-led solution design. We welcome candidates whose strengths are primarily in business analysis, UX, or a combination of both. The role does not assume equal depth across all areas; instead, the balance of responsibilities will be agreed intentionally, reflecting the individual’s strengths and the evolving needs of the team, with scope and priorities set to support a sustainable and realistic workload.

Operating in this space, the role focuses on translating business and user needs into clear, UX-informed solutions that enable effective delivery. Depending on the successful candidate’s strengths and seniority, this may involve a deeper focus on problem analysis, solution design, or a blend of both, working in close collaboration with others to ensure continuity from discovery through delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the exploration of business and user requirements, translating them into clear, well-defined solution concepts and design direction, with strong attention to data quality and integrity.
  • Design efficient, intuitive, and coherent user workflows and interfaces, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and architectural principles.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, developers, and QA to ensure shared understanding from discovery through to delivery, using clear communication and appropriate artefacts.
  • Present options, impacts, and recommendations to support informed decisions, while maintaining traceability from business needs to delivered outcomes.
  • Support internal testing, review, and assurance activities, ensuring delivered features remain aligned with the intended business outcomes and design decisions established during discovery.
Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant technical or professional discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry or role.
Required Skills
  • Experience using modern UX and design tools to create and iterate on workflows, wireframes, and prototypes (e.g. Figma, Moqups, or similar).
  • Experience with collaboration and delivery tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence or equivalent platforms).
  • Experience working across software development life cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
Preferred Skills
  • Relevant professional or role-specific certifications.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Familiarity with compliance-driven or regulated delivery environments.
  • Practical experience with responsive web design, information architecture, accessibility standards, and usability best practices.
Interview Process & Equal Opportunity

To ensure a fair and transparent hiring process, our recruitment typically follows the stages below:

  • Intro Call (Remote – Microsoft Teams or phone, audio only) - A conversation to discuss your background, experience, and interest in the role.
  • Role Fit Interview (In Person - Exeter Office) - A practical or scenario-based exercise relevant to the role, designed to understand how you approach real-world problems.
  • Ways of Working Interview (In Person - Exeter Office) - A broader conversation focused on ways of working, communication style, motivations, and alignment with Iridium’s culture and values.

The structure outlined above should be assumed in almost all cases. If anything differs, candidates will be informed in advance of what to expect at each stage.

We aim to run a fair and transparent recruitment process and encourage applicants to apply even if they do not meet every criterion.

We are happy to make reasonable adjustments to support candidates throughout the process.

Details and Benefits
  • 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, including 2.5 hours of protected learning time.
  • 29 days annual leave including bank holidays, increasing yearly.
  • Ongoing training and development (Pluralsight access).
