The Transformation Team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Specialist to join our Team and help turn AI strategy into practical solutions that improve patient care and operational efficiency.

As our technical expert for AI, DS and automation, you will lead the end-to-end development of AI proofs-of-concept, from data preparation and model development through to evaluation and scalable demonstrators.

You will design and implement automation solutions, working closely with clinical, operational, BI and Digital teams to ensure alignment with governance standards, Epic Caboodle and the NHS Federated Data Platform.

We’re looking for someone with strong SQL and programming skills (Python/R), advanced analytical capability, and significant NHS experience. You’ll be confident presenting complex insights to non-technical audiences and passionate about using AI responsibly to deliver measurable benefits.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2026-7 rates, inclusive of a 3.3% pay award implemented from April 2026. If you join before this date, remuneration will be based on the 2025-6 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2025/26 | NHS Employers)
