Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist; Acute Frailty
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 secondment to promote rapid assessments, discharges and rehab interventions to build high quality Acute Frailty therapy intervention as part of a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) on our Acute Frailty Unit (AFU-Capener Ward). This would be delivered as part of the Admission Avoidance Service.

More detail about the role
This would be an ideal opportunity for someone interested in leading a test of change to build an efficient, effective and high-quality therapy service with a special interest in Acute Frailty, and wanting to expand their skills in project management, audits and test of change management. The post would develop skills and knowledge in frailty management, assessment and prevention.
The post holder would be responsible for providing consistent staffing to the Acute Frailty Unit, developing the Admission Avoidance Service on the Acute Frailty Unit and collecting data to reflect the outcome of this test of change. The post holder would be supported by the Admission Avoidance team and have opportunity to work within front door areas to develop Admission Avoidance skills, but primarily be based to lead the Admission Avoidance Service on the Acute Frailty Unit.
This position offers opportunities to build leadership experience while supporting and supervising rehabilitation support workers.

Working Pattern: Cover across 7 days. Mainly Monday - Friday, 1 weekend to be covered per roster period.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2026-7 rates, inclusive of a 3.3% pay award implemented from April 2026. If you join before this date, remuneration will be based on the 2025-6 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2025/26 | NHS Employers)
This is a fixed term contract until 15/11/2026. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
