Rotational Dietitian

Are you looking to develop your skills and grow your career within a dynamic and supportive Dietetic team? We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Eastern) as part of our expanding Dietetics service.

We are recruiting two Dietitians: one full‑time permanent position and one part‑time fixed‑term position (4 days per week) until August 2026.

We deliver a wide range of emergency, specialist and general medical services through North Devon District Hospital and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford), and provide integrated health and social care services across a variety of settings including community inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics and people’s own homes.

Job

responsibilities
  • Work within a team of five rotational dietitians across Acute, Oncology, Renal and Community settings.
  • Manage a shared caseload of inpatient and outpatient work across multiple specialties including Stroke, Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Cardiology, Endocrinology and healthcare for older people.
  • Contribute to audit and quality‑improvement projects.
  • Deliver training to other healthcare professionals, including medical students.
  • Develop patient resources and promote nutrition and dietetics across the local healthcare community.
  • Support the training and supervision of dietetic students from the University of Plymouth (placements A, B and

    C).
Working pattern

One part‑time fixed‑term position (4 days per week) and one full‑time permanent position.

Pay

The salary reflects the Agenda for Change 2026‑7 rates, including a 3.3% pay award from April 2026. If you join before this date, remuneration will be based on the 2025‑6 pay bandings.

Part‑time position is a fixed‑term contract until 10/08/2026. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.

Person specification – General requirements
  • Experience in acute, oncology, renal and community dietetics settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a shared caseload and deliver outcome‑based care.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills with experience in audit and quality improvement.
  • Evidence of professional development and willingness to supervise dietetic students.
