Consultant in Clinical Oncology – Sarcoma and Gynaecology

Closing date: 27 February 2026. This is a part‑time consultant position (CCT in Clinical Oncology or within 6 months of CCT at interview) based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Royal Devon and University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

We invite applications for a clinical oncologist with an interest in gynaecology (including brachytherapy) and sarcoma to support service expansion and cover a retiring post. The post will focus on delivering high‑quality patient care, multidisciplinary teamwork, and advancing clinical practice.

Main duties
  • Provide clinical care for gynaecological and sarcoma oncology services.
  • Deliver evidence‑based treatment plans and supportive care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical governance and audit.
  • Engage in teaching, training and mentorship of junior staff and trainees.
  • Contribute to clinical research and clinical trials (NCRI, commercial studies).
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Registered medical practitioner and Specialist Register holder, or within 6 months of completion of specialist training.
  • Clinical Oncology CCT (or within 6 months of CCT).
  • Experience in gynaecological oncology and sarcoma preferred.
  • Commitment to teaching, research and quality improvement.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
