Extended Scope Practitioner (Fracture Clinic)The closing date is 06 February 2026
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Fracture Clinic Team as an Extended Scope Practitioner for a 12‑month maternity leave cover. This post will involve working as a high‑level practitioner with advanced clinical skills within the Trauma & Orthopaedic multidisciplinary team. You will provide specialist management and advice for patients with fractures and soft‑tissue pathologies and contribute to the virtual fracture clinic service.

For more detail about the main duties of this role, please see the job description section below. As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilitiesThe postholder will work autonomously in delivering clinics alongside consultant orthopaedic surgeons, providing initial assessment and diagnosis, identifying and interpreting appropriate investigations, listing for surgical and therapeutic procedures, and following up of patients.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of managing patients with a wide range of acute musculoskeletal conditions; have post‑graduate qualifications relevant to the position and demonstrable, high‑level clinical reasoning skills. The postholder will be self‑motivated, enthusiastic, have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
Working Pattern: 22.5 Hours Per Week to be worked over 3 days (Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays).
