Support womens football? Don't go offside and join us to support this young lady. Live life to the fullest!
Support Worker
Pay rate: £14.50 per hour
Shifts
: 8am-8pm / 8pm-8am
We’re looking for a Support Worker to be part of one person’s journey to live life their way in Exeter
. She loves music, social media, shopping trips, womens football and exploring new places. To help her do more of what she enjoys, we need someone local who knows Exeter
, can drive their car, and holds a full UK licence.
You’ll provide 1:1 (sometimes 2:1) support, both at home and in the community, from meaningful activities to keeping her home comfortable. You’ll need to be calm and nurturing with strong communication skills. You also need to be friendly and supportive while maintaining professional boundaries to support this young lady successfully.
She communicates with her family regularly, especially mum, so it’s really important that we’re all clear and consistent with messages to avoid confusion. The young lady is very communicative when in the "green" and has great verbal communication skills but also loves communicating in written form, i.e. text messages, emails and written notes. As she moves through "amber" and "red", her ability to communicate deteriorates.
She doesn’t like visual aids or symbols and can struggle with tone, so she may be upset or offended if she takes something the wrong way or thinks you were being disrespectful. You may need to explain common sayings and ask her to repeat something back to ensure understanding.
