Role Summary

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Healthcare assistant within the Walk-in centre. Role includes:

  • Contribute to the assessment of patient needs and the evaluation of care programmes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of patients individual care programmes under the direction of a registered nurse/paramedic.
  • Same day and ongoing wound assessment, management, referral (as required/appropriate) and discharge.
  • Undertake skilled nursing jobs, for example, routine observations and point of care testing for which training and competency assessment has been undertaken.
  • Escalating results and concerns to the practitioners.
  • Stores/stock requesting
  • Occasional reception duties.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our busy Walk‑in centre, working closely alongside a team of practitioners and Senior Healthcare Assistants.

The post holder will be responsible for providing same day and ongoing wound assessment, knowledge and management to patients with a variety of wounds, referring complex wounds to appropriate services and teams, assisting the practitioners with observations and point of care testing, assisting with occasional reception duties and stores requesting and restocking.

The post holder must be able to work under pressure, be able to manage own patient work‑loads, have good organisational skills, good time management skills, adapt quickly to difficult situations, and effective communication skills.

Our vision is to provide safe and efficient care to patients with compassion, dignity and respect. Ideally the post holder should hold the Level 3 Diploma but training will be provided for this specific role.

Working hours per week

Long days 8am‑8pm hours or short days 8am‑4pm / 4pm‑8pm hours, 7 day service.

Additional enhancements

Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
