The post holder will be required to work alongside the band 7 nurse prescriber as well part of the immediate MDT and larger teams participating in the holistic assessment of Breast patients. You will give generic advice, undertake some direct patient care, bloods, ECGs etc and help navigate the breast patient receiving Ribociclib throughout the pathway.
The main part of the role will be focused on the introduction of the NICE TAG support Ribociclib.
You will provide essential communication to improve patient experience and quality of care, reducing lengths of stay and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions.
You will support the band 7 and lead consultant in the planning and development of the future service in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures utilising the most effective resources.

The Oncology and Haematology services have been successful in gaining a significant financial investment, increasing the head count by an additional 79 posts across the multi-disciplinary team.
The Breast team are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic, patient focused band 4 support worker to support the breast team, especially then band 7 with the implementation of Ribociclib.
The role will be solely focused on the implementation of Ribociclib for the first 12 months, helping the MDT with patient navigation, bloods, ECGs etc the funding supports a 12-month fixed term post with future potential to make substantive.
As a breast support working you will holistically assess the patient’s current needs providing supportive care to improve their cancer experience and quality of life.
You will be an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team working across the whole patient pathway. This will incorporate supporting the patient as required throughout their oncological/haematological pathway. You will be expected to work within the team as well as autonomously, prioritising and managing your caseload and time appropriately.
