To safely deliver SACT treatments to patients in line with Trust guidelines both within inpatient wards (Yeo and Yarty), Cherrybrook Unit and in the Outreach locations.

Cancer services includes Haematology (Yarty inpatient, day case, outpatients) and Oncology (Yeo inpatients, Cherrybrook day case and outpatients). We currently have vacancies in Yarty and Cherrybrook.
About us
The service ethos is one of multi-disciplinary working supporting a holistic approach to care provided for patients and relatives. Both services provide a designated quiet space for patients & relatives, including Teenager & Young persons dedicated rooms allowing for relatives to stay, and end of life accommodation.
Haematology consists of an Inpatient ward, Day case and Outpatients in a dedicated purpose-built facility. Yarty ward is a 14 bedded Haematology unit with attached day case caring for people receiving treatments including Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments (SACT) Supportive care/Stem cell transplant programme and End of life care.
Oncology consists of an Inpatient ward, Day case, Outpatients and Radiotherapy. Yeo is a 23 bedded ward providing care across many cancer sites from patients receiving treatments including SACT, Radiotherapy and Radioactive iodine therapy.
We care for patients across the whole of Devon throughout their pathway, undergoing diagnostic, curative and palliative treatments, including the management of symptoms related to their therapies or their disease process.
Both areas support the day case areas, provide 24 triage lines for cancer patients and directly admit patients to the inpatients wards as required. Due to the skill set of oncology and haematology nurses, the teams work very closely together, including joint working at Outreach locations.
The service is supported by two local charities Exeter Leukaemia Fund & FORCE who work closely with the services including support for our patients but also our staff in the form of clinical supervision, education and Outreach services.
Experience with in the field would be beneficial but not essential, full training would be provided and encouraged to allow a successful candidate to provide holistic care with the support of access to CPDs and trust funds and tailored made education for the right individuals. We offer education including access to various external courses including degree and masters pathway which can be tailored to the successful applicant, including rotational posts to gain experience across the areas.
