Position: Support Worker (Contract)

Rate: £15.66 per hour

Contract:

Temporary – ongoing
We are currently working with a well-established housing and support provider who is looking to appoint a Support Worker on a temporary ongoing basis in Exeter.
This is a frontline role supporting vulnerable customers within supported accommodation and/or through visiting support in the community. The post holder will play a key role in promoting independence, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for service users.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to customers in line with individual support and safety plans
Support customers with housing and tenancy-related issues, including ASB, welfare benefits, budgeting and financial inclusion
Identify, manage and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with policy and procedure
Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to support customer journeys
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using relevant case management and housing systems
Carry out risk assessments, lone working, and health & safety checks
Support customers with practical and emotional needs, including access to education, employment and community engagement
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful service environment

Requirements:

Experience or a strong understanding of working with people with support needs
Knowledge of supported housing, safeguarding, welfare benefits and person-centred support
Ability to manage risk, work independently, and prioritise a varied caseload
Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Strong communication, organisation and report-writing skills
Willingness to work flexibly and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Experience working with customer groups such as young people, individuals with mental health needs, substance misuse, domestic abuse, or those at risk of homelessness would be advantageous.
