Purchase Ledger Clerk

Our client, a well-established and reputable organisation, is currently seeking a diligent and organised Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity offers hybrid working options.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to accounts payable. As the Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a key role in delivering a professional and timely accounting service, ensuring the smooth operation of the purchase ledger function.

• Process purchase requisitions and raise purchase orders
• Receive, review, and accurately record supplier invoices
• Match invoices to purchase orders and verify coding, charges, and VAT
• Prepare and process supplier payments in line with procedures
• Communicate with suppliers and issue remittance advices
• Maintain and update supplier accounts and records within the finance system
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries promptly
• Assist with month‑end tasks and provide general finance support

• Studying towards AAT level 2, 3 or 4
• Proven purchase ledger / accounts payable experience, ideally within a commercial finance team.
• Strong attention to detail with a logical, methodical approach.
• Confident and professional communicator, able to build positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
• Highly organised and IT literate, with experience using finance systems and Microsoft Office applications.
