Role SummaryWe are seeking an innovative architect or architectural technologist to join our Exeter team. This contract position offers the opportunity to own projects, lead design teams, and collaborate across disciplines within our Midlands, South‑West and Wales business region.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership and deliver projects from concept through detail design to site delivery.
- Lead multi‑disciplinary design teams, ensuring coordination, interface resolution, clash detection and resolution.
- Produce, analyse and advise on materials selection, specification and detailed design solutions in relation to performance and production criteria.
- Manage BIM collaboration, including federation of models, model checking, clash and interface management, and on‑site job running.
- Work directly with clients and contractors across a variety of sectors to deliver successful outcomes.
- RIBA Part 3 or CIAT accreditation with demonstrable 5‑10 years experience on complex projects.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and the RIBA Plan of Work.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD; experience with Navisworks and other advanced collaboration software is desirable.
- Experience leading and coordinating design teams across all project stages.
- Familiarity with BIM model federation, model checking, clash/interface management and on‑site oversight.
- Strong interpersonal skills, efficient time management and organisation.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and a positive can‑do attitude.
- Effective team player.
