SEMH Teaching Assistant – Exeter
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to work in a setting where every child’s safety, wellbeing and progress are the highest priority? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in the Exeter area, supporting pupils aged 5–18.
About the roleAs an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and senior leaders to support pupils both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in building positive relationships and helping students develop confidence, resilience and coping strategies.
Responsibilities- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Assisting with personalised learning plans
- Promoting a calm, safe and structured environment
- Encouraging independence and positive decision-making
This specialist setting provides education and care for pupils aged 5–18 with SEMH needs. The school is firmly committed to safeguarding, with the child at the centre of everything they do.

Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
