We are currently seeking an experienced, organised and compassionate SENCO to join an inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in Exeter. This is a full-time, permanent role starting January 2026, offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEND leader to take responsibility for shaping and strengthening provision across the school.

About the SEND Department
  • A dedicated Learning Support area
  • Experienced Teaching Assistants and intervention leads
  • Close links with external professionals and specialist agencies
  • Strong systems for identification, assessment and targeted intervention
  • Investment in assistive technology and individualised resources
About the Role
  • Leading the strategic and operational direction of SEND across the school
  • Overseeing EHCP processes, reviews and statutory compliance
  • Supporting teaching staff with differentiation and inclusive practice
  • Monitoring SEND progress and coordinating targeted interventions
  • Line managing support staff and supporting professional development
  • Working closely with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Contributing to safeguarding and pastoral structures
Experience and Qualifications
  • NASENCO qualification (or working towards)
  • QTS
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience supporting students with diverse needs in a secondary setting
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
Salary

Paid to scale + SEN allowance.
