The King's School is an 11-18 comprehensive school, which takes great pride in the promotion of excellence in teaching and learning, pastoral care and extra-curricular activities. Our core purpose of 'Achievement for All' encourages every student to develop their skills, interests and talents, not just through academic achievement but also through a rich variety of enrichment opportunities including house competitions, extra-curricular clubs, trips and visits.

For April 2026
, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher of Physical Education until at least August 2026 (one term). The ability to teach PE to GCSE and A Level is desirable, but not essential. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to offer a specialism in activities such as netball, hockey, gymnastics and athletics, to complement the specialist areas covered by the rest of the team and demonstrate a commitment to drive extra-curricular opportunities in physical education and school sport.

A D1 category driving licence would also be desirable
. Very importantly, we wish to appoint someone who works well in a team, has the ability to motivate students, is flexible, adaptable and can work under pressure without losing their all-important sense of humour.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a very experienced and supportive department with a commitment to deliver Physical Education. We offer a very strong support programme for teachers who are starting their career and working towards ECT status or returning to teaching after a break.
