Consultants within the department typically work within two to three different subspecialty teams. There is flexibility regarding subspecialist areas available, with scope to further develop specialist interests within a supportive environment. We welcome applications from individuals with established subspecialty expertise, as well as those keen to further develop their interests in specific areas.

The friendly, supportive and highly collaborative consultant team operates an open‑door culture. Cases are routinely shared, ensuring support and guidance is available to all colleagues. Consultants within the department benefit from their own private office and are supplied with home‑working equipment. The team work closely with partners across our network to deliver digital pathology, with the second phase validation currently underway.

There is the opportunity to participate in the external post‑mortem service (in addition to this role).
