Fostering Support Worker - Exeter/Plymouth
Five Rivers Child Care is a social enterprise dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people by reinvesting in their futures. We are seeking a Fostering Support Worker to assist Supervising Social Workers and Foster Carers across Devon and Somerset including the areas of Torbay and Plymouth
.
- Promote the welfare of children and young people placed with Five Rivers Child Care.
- Support the placement process and provide practical assistance to foster families.
- Work directly with children and young people, including those who have experienced trauma, as part of structured programs.
- Coordinate group activities and joint work in home and community settings.
- Manage workload effectively, maintain accurate records, and produce meaningful reports.
- Deliver support in line with care plans and organisational policies.
- Represent Five Rivers to potential new foster carers at recruitment activities and events.
- Collate information and contribute towards the Investing in Children’s Award.
- Arrange make a difference event for young people.
- Offer cost effective support to individual young people.
We are seeking a caring, passionate, and motivated individual who enjoys interacting with young people.
Candidates must be friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for providing our young people and carers with high-quality support.
You may work with Children and Young people with a range of complex needs including Learning difficulties, Autism, and Trauma.
You must be able to work as a team member to achieve best outcomes for the children, and be able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people would be an advantage but not necessary.
This is a Full‑Time position for 37 hours a week, which could include weekends and after school hours. A full UK driving licence is required for this role as it involves extensive driving across the above areas.
