REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Strategic Planning
SCHEDULE: Full-time, 12 months/year. Schedule may vary according to departmental and Academy needs. Nights and weekends as required. Ten percent domestic travel to support events and cultivate volunteers.

Advance the mission of Alumni Relations:
To engage alumni, parents, and students in ways that will strengthen their ties to Exeter and to each other in order to promote their philanthropy and volunteerism.
- Supports activities across the team that advance the department’s mission; independently manages select virtual, regional and campus programs as assigned (e.g., regional receptions and programs, on campus programs, and reunions).
- Serves as regional events management support for Alumni Relations. Duties include travel and event material preparation, nametags, invitations/reminders, and confirmations.
- Partners with campus stakeholders to support Institutional Advancement and the Academy.
- Relationship management of faculty, staff, and alumni to execute strategic events and programming.
- Negotiates with vendors to provide best value for services rendered on behalf of the Academy.
- Develops and deploys best practices for regional and campus events.
- Recruits, trains, supervises, steward alumni volunteers and staff to meet programmatic objectives.
- Builds rapport and effectively communicates key messages to alumni through visits on and off campus.
- Respect for diversity of identities and experiences, an orientation toward equity and inclusion, and cultural competency in all aspects of Academy life.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students by building trust and credibility.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a strong customer focus.
- A strict adherence to confidential policies is required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in MS Office, Facebook, Instagram, Linked In and other social media.
- Willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed.
- High degree of organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and multi-task with accuracy.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions, always maintain a professional demeanor and restraint, including stressful situations.
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign or other design tools.
Responsible for overseeing and stewarding alumni volunteers.
Position RequirementsEducation
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in alumni relations, donor relations, event planning, sales and marketing, or related fields required.
- Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).
- Clean Driving record (reviewed annually).
