RN - Pre Op/PACU - PRN (Healthcare)
ResponsibilitiesThe Pre Op/PACU RN is responsible for coordinating and managing patient care for surgical patients throughout the preoperative and postoperative phases. They will administer diligent care to surgical patients via assessment, monitoring, and intervention including care for the post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia (general, regional, and local). They will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems.
Treats pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia. Updates charts, patient files, and medical records. Collaborates with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating timely specialized interventions. Provides comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members. Educates patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Must maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri. Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.
