Medical Assistant - ESH Health Express (Administrative)

• Obtain current and correct information from patient (history, allergies, etc.) required for physician.
• Obtain and record vital signs correctly; TPR, Weight, Height, and Blood Pressure.
• Maintain growth charts on pediatric patients.
• Review current problem or signs and symptoms with patient.
• Record accurate documentation for records into EMR.
• Assist with scanning of medical records.
• Maintain accurate record of assigned and vacant exam rooms.
• Room patient efficiently and accurately.
• Perform correct admission and dismissal procedures.
• Maintain degree of confidentiality regarding patient information, medical staff, and office issues.
• Able to give detailed discharge instructions, follow up appointments, etc.
• Assist with minor office surgical procedures, pap smears and other procedures as needed.
• Maintain working knowledge of routines and standing orders.
• Assist with scheduling procedures, testing and surgeries with outside agencies as directed.
• Assist with authorization/certification of patients with insurance for surgery or procedures as needed.
• E‑faxes and phones pharmacies with patient prescriptions as directed by office policy.
• Inventory and maintain appropriate supply of drug samples and supplies.
• Ensure outdated medications and supplies are removed per policy in a timely manner.

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
• Prefer previous experience in a physician office setting.
• Medical terminology background preferred.
• Previous experience in specific medical field preferred.
