Job SummaryAs an Employment Specialist II, you will develop and manage community-based work training opportunities for individuals, providing hands‑on support and guidance to help them succeed in their roles. You will also oversee training sites, support staff, and ensure compliance with agency policies while fostering an inclusive, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage work training sites and opportunities for individuals.
- Supervise and train individuals in community settings.
- Oversee and guide Assistant Employment Specialists to meet training needs.
- Address behavioral challenges using appropriate crisis management techniques.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation (e.g., Therap).
- Develop and implement task analyses and training materials.
- Administer medications and provide daily physical care as needed.
- Ensure the use and maintenance of adaptive equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with Senior Employment Specialists, managers, and partners.
- Coordinate transportation for individuals to training sites and community activities.
- Liaise between training site partners and the organization to maintain quality control and safe environments.
- Participate in staff meetings and cross‑train at other sites as required.
- Serve as part of the on‑call rotation for case management and support.
- Fully cooperate with investigations and training programs as mandated.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and the DDD community is highly preferred.
- Prior personal / professional experience working with adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required (less than 3 suspensions and/or moving violations in the past 3 years)
- Experience in writing reports and proficiency in computer skills/data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in working with individuals with diverse abilities.
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals, families, staff, and community members.
