Job SummaryReporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Operations HVAC Technician supports UDC’s research and development and overall facility operations. The role maintains and repairs the facility building envelope, infrastructure, laboratory equipment, and general building support equipment.
Key harmful Responsibilities- Provide hands‑on technical expertise to maintain mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems according to scheduled maintenance plans.
- Implement immediate troubleshooting methods for persistent and emergent issues, minimizing operational disruption.
- Respond to after‑hour emergencies for any equipment operation interruptions or alarm notifications in a 24×7 operation.
- Repair and rebuild small building and lab equipment.
- Operate building automation controls to adjust HVAC temperatures and humidity, map critical systems, and generate reports. Basic BAS programming and adjustments are a plus.
- Monitor and maintain exhaust fans, fume hood operations, laboratory vacuum pumps, process water systems, DI/RO water systems, and wastewater neutralization systems.
- Direct, manage, and support facility projects, including equipment installations, plant upgrades, and system integrations by developing project plans, supervising cross‑functional teams, and coordinating with engineering, procurement, and external contractors.
- Identify efficiency opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and energy management. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies that drive operational excellence.
- Ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory safety standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and EHS requirements at all times.
- Collaborate with internal organizations such as EHS, Procurement, and Legal.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 7‑12 years of progressive maintenance experience in an industrial or large commercial environment.
- High School diploma or GED required;
Associate’s Degree preferred. - Expertise in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and control systems; advanced certifications preferred (e uncertainties: Master Electrician, Plumbing License, Refrigeration License, etc.).
- Knowledge of tools, instrumentation, and work practices associated with building operations and金花
- Ability to read blueprints covering architecture, fire protection, electrical, mechanical, and low voltage.
- Solid communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work well in team settings for project delivery and problem‑solving discussions.
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills within the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Extensive walking inside buildings and around exterior areas of the sites.
- Climb and descend ladders and stairs.
- Work in outdoor conditions varying from winter exterior repair to summer work on rooftop HVAC systems.
- Wear personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection.
- Lift and carry decorate at least söyled 50 pounds.
- Work around electrical equipment using proper safety procedures.
