Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic Application

• $55,000.00 to $66,852.84 annually plus FSLA overtime

• Previous EMT, firefighting, and/or apparatus operator experience

Jefferson Fire District covers 86 square miles in Marion and Linn Counties. We have a population of 9,300 permanent residents that live within the City of Jefferson and rural communities. We responded to over 1,300 emergencies in 2025. Services provided are ALS ambulance, Firefighting including, wildland and vehicle fires, hazardous material response, and swift water rescue. We are hiring 1 full-time firefighter/paramedic and establishing a hiring list.

Currently we have two firefighter/paramedics per shift with a part-time EMT or paramedic. We staff one ambulance with a full-time firefighter/paramedic and a part-time EMT or paramedic. The second firefighter/paramedic staffs the second out ambulance, fire engine, or appropriate apparatus for the call. Applications and qualifications will be reviewed March 27th, an assessment center will be conducted on April 3, with a tentative start date of April 26.
