- $55,000.00 to $66,852.84 annually plus FSLA overtime

Jefferson Fire District covers 86 square miles in Marion and Linn Counties. We have a population of 9,300 permanent residents within the City of Jefferson and rural communities. We responded to over 1,300 emergencies in 2025. Services provided are ALS ambulance, firefighting—including structural, wildland, and vehicle fires—hazardous material response, and swift water rescue. We are hiring 1 full‑time firefighter/paramedic and establishing a hiring list.
Currently we have two firefighter/paramedics per shift with a part‑time EMT or paramedic. We staff one ambulance with a full‑time firefighter/paramedic and a part‑time EMT or paramedic. The second firefighter/paramedic staffs the second out ambulance, fire engine, or appropriate apparatus for the call. Applications and qualifications will be reviewed in the week of February 16, and an assessment center will be conducted the week of February 23, with a tentative start date of March 26.
