Plastics Engineer

Direct Hire
Salary: $105K to $145K
- Design plastics or injection-mold fabrication processes.
- Create and improve injection-mold machinery processes.
- Research and develop new manufacturing processes.
- Analyze manufacturing data and suggest improvements.
- Analyze production capabilities of manufacturing machinery lines.
- Ensure quality output of molded components.
- Develop and design engineered plastic parts, insert molding of parts and assemblies.
- Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal resources.
- Establish the parameters for an optimal molding environment.
- Design necessary secondary operation components.
- Analyze Moldflow data as well as finite element analysis, stress/fatigue analysis.
- Assist in mold design of both hot/cold runner molds.
- Develop 3D solid part designs. (Solid Works knowledge preferred)
- Moldflow mold‑filling simulations knowledge.
- Education/Certification:
B.Sc. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer, or Plastics Engineering or other related engineering discipline.
- Must have 3+ years' experience in a customer‑facing role that involves injection molding, product design, quoting and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge and application with polymer material properties, plastic injection molding, surface treatment and functionalization, heat transfer, and other related topics.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong initiative, self‑directed.
- Proven problem‑solving ability, good documentation skills, and good manufacturing practices.
- Solid Works.

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
