Innovation and Industry Engagement Intern

You will contribute to ideation, research, analysis, and execution of innovation projects while learning how data‑driven insights and creative thinking shape business strategy and industry solutions.

This role offers a unique opportunity to learn by doing. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, participate in innovation workshops, and support industry engagement activities that help GS1 US drive meaningful impact across industries.

This is a hybrid role requiring in‑office presence in Ewing, NJ two days per week, with a pay of $25/hr.

You are curious, analytical, and excited about innovation, emerging technologies, and industry trends. You enjoy solving problems, exploring new ideas, and working collaboratively with others.

You communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing, and are comfortable translating complex ideas into simple, actionable insights. You are organized, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment where priorities may evolve.

You have completed at least your third year of a collegiate program and have an interest in innovation, industry engagement, business strategy, or related fields. Familiarity with presentation tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint and collaboration platforms such as Miro is helpful.

In short, you will support GS1 US’s innovation and industry engagement efforts by contributing to projects that advance strategic initiatives and improve organizational processes. Your work will help identify opportunities, generate insights, and support the development of innovative solutions that address evolving industry needs.

• Support Innovation Projects
  Assist in implementing and analyzing innovation initiatives, including research and development activities, to help advance strategic programs and new solution concepts.
• Contribute to Industry Engagement Activities
  Support preparation for industry engagement efforts by researching sector trends, assisting with member outreach, summarizing insights from meetings, and identifying emerging opportunities across key industries.
• Drive Process Improvement
  Support daily operations and contribute to process improvement initiatives across teams, helping streamline workflows and enhance organizational effectiveness.
• Analyze Data and Generate Insights
  Collect, analyze, and report data related to innovation projects to inform strategic decisions and support evidence‑based recommendations.
• Participate in Ideation and Design Thinking
  Contribute to ideation sessions, workshops, and brainstorming activities to help optimize innovation processes and develop new solutions.
• Collaborate Across Teams
  Provide support to innovation, industry engagement, and Supply Chain Visibility teams on research, design thinking, prototyping, and other project‑based initiatives.
