Return to Life Lived Grand — and Help Us Bring It to Our Guests

At Dumbleton Hall, we do not simply run a hotel. We steward a great English manor — a place where every guest is received as the honoured visitor of the family. Fires are lit, dinner is served, and life unfolds as it once did in the Golden Age of English country houses. Our team brings this story to life every day.

We are inviting passionate, thoughtful, and character-led individuals to join us in creating an experience unlike any other in the Cotswolds.

What Makes Us Unique

Dumbleton Hall offers layered, colourful, storied, and personal touches. Our unique selling proposition is built on five pillars:

  • Manor Life – Rituals of welcome, firelight, garden and lake, and gracious dining.
  • Culture & Story – A heritage woven through literature, diplomacy, and society.
  • Countryside & Walking – The Winchcombe Way at our gates and historic estates all around.
  • Grand Tour Polish – Refinement in service, signage, and dining.>
  • Romance – From moonlit gardens to weddings, honeymoons, and love stories.

Our team members are custodians of these values — shaping every touchpoint, from arrival to farewell.

Food and Beverage Manager

As the director of the dining experience—commanding the floor, shaping the mood, and ensuring each guest’s journey unfolds like a scene from bygone years, you will lead a team of exceptional service. You’ll guide them with flair, passion, and unrelenting attention to detail.

You’ll be:

  • A consummate host, radiating elegance, charm, and confident leadership.
  • Fully flexible across 5 out of 7 days, including a mix of shifts.
  • Passionate about hospitality, taking pride in every detail.
  • Gifted in communication, coordination, and crafting unforgettable experiences.
  • Dedicated to team spirit and inspiring excellence in every corner of the venue.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the daily restaurant performance, ensuring smooth flow and a seamless guest journey.
  • Lead, train, and inspire a dynamic cast of kitchen and front‑of‑house stars.
  • Help rising stars gain confidence and inspire our teams to achieve their best every day.
  • Curate an atmosphere of excellence—from service precision to ambient perfection.
  • Conduct pre‑service briefings like opening night pep talks, ensuring everyone knows their cues.
  • Manage VIP reservations, private soirées, and bespoke experiences with grace and discretion.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to keep guests informed and ensure seamless communication.
  • Command the stage of health, safety, and hygiene with impeccable standards.
  • Oversee rotas, payroll, and stock—behind‑the‑scenes magic that keeps the curtain rising.
  • Deliver performance reports and help hit KPIs like box office hits.
  • Infuse the DNA of “A Life Lived Grand” into every interaction with guests and teams.
Dining at Dumbleton

Our culinary offering completes the grand house‑party experience. Seasonal British cooking, Cotswold provenance, multi‑course tasting menus, and the warmth of the Cedar Tree Restaurant define our approach. From high teas in the Oak Drawing Room to post‑theatre nightcaps in the Library Bar, our service is formal in ritual yet unpretentious in feeling.

If you take pride in craft, generosity, and genuine hospitality, you will thrive here.

What It Means to Work at Dumbleton Hall
  • You welcome guests by name.
  • You anticipate needs without intrusion.
  • You offer service that feels personal, cultured, and effortless.
  • You help create moments—fireside, garden‑side, tableside—that feel grand yet warmly human.

Every role, front or back of house, contributes to the story we tell.

Who We’re Looking For
  • Warm, articulate, and genuinely guest‑focused.
  • Inspired by heritage, storytelling, and countryside hospitality.
  • Detail‑oriented, polished, and proud of their work.
  • Eager to develop their craft in service, dining, housekeeping, guest experience, events, and more.
  • Excited to join a growing team reshaping a manor house into the gem of the Cotswolds.

Hospitality experience is valuable but not essential — the right character matters most.

Why Join Us?
  • Be part of a landmark transformation of one of the Cotswolds’ grandest manor houses.
  • Work with a team inspired by culture, quality, and guest delight.
  • Grow your skills within a storied English estate environment.
  • Contribute to experiences that guests will remember for life.
  • Enjoy staff benefits, training, growth pathways, and the privilege of working in a historic, romantic, extraordinary setting.
