The Village of Evergreen Park is seeking applicants for two full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker positions. The Maintenance Worker position involves performing unskilled and semi-skilled general labor and maintenance tasks in the care and upkeep of streets, alleys, sewers, water lines, buildings, grounds, and equipment. Work also involves the operation of trucks, mowers, and other similar equipment while completing work assignments.

Preferred Qualifications- Class B-CDL
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- One (1) year of experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles and construction equipment.
Licenses and Special Requirements:
- Must have the ability to obtain and keep a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
- Random substance abuse testing is required for this position.
The general work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Applicants must be able to respond to after-hours call-backs and be prepared for and confront emergency conditions as necessary.
Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly pay rate for this position is $29.99. This position is classified as a full-time, non-exempt (overtime eligible) union position.
The Village provides a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Pension, 457 deferred compensation program, and paid time off.
The selected finalists for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation, medical physical, and drug screen.
