Overview
Searching for Our Mary Poppins of Dog Grooming
. Remember how the Banks children wrote a very specific list describing the nanny they wanted? We’re doing the same — because we’re looking for our Mary Poppins. Our Mary Poppins Groomer is steady, thoughtful, and proactive.
- You send a same-day text with a cute photo + short update
- You write quick notes after each groom (because no one remembers everything)
- You confirm tomorrow’s appointments the day before
- If someone cancels, you offer the next available spot AND fill the hole
- You can squeeze in a waiting-list client when needed
- When a cancellation can’t be filled, you proactively look for a good-fit dog to take the spot
- You maintain a calm, predictable grooming flow
- You stick to your set schedule so clients always know when you’re available
- You notice when a regular hasn’t been in and gently reach out
- Your own private grooming room
- Dogs done start to finish — no rushing, no assembly-line grooming
- Built-in clients from daycare, walking, and training
- Relationship-based environment
- This is a W-2 position. Groomers are paid for all on-site time
- Guaranteed hourly pay for every hour on site
- Additional earnings through commission, tips, and performance bonuses
- Tips are 100% yours
- Referral bonus: earn 5% of what your referred clients spend in their first year
- Quarterly bonuses tied to rebooking, communication, and consistency
- On days primarily consisting of larger dogs, groomers typically earn the equivalent of approximately $55–$75 per hour, depending on dog size, services, and grooming pace
- This role assumes dogs are completed start-to-finish in approximately 60–90 minutes per dog. Slower grooms will result in lower effective hourly earnings. This is not a flat hourly wage
- 24+ months of recent professional grooming experience
- Formal grooming training (grooming school, vocational program, or documented apprenticeship)
- Stable work history — at least 12 consecutive months at your last grooming job
- Able to complete full grooms independently across multiple breeds
- Reliable, punctual, and steady in their workflow
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs and stand most of the shift
- Willing to complete a paid test groom
- Lives within ~15 minutes of Everett (6628 Evergreen Way)
One part kindness, one part consistency, one part craftsmanship — with a touch of magic that keeps clients coming back again and again.
