Parks is hiring Facility Maintenance Worker I – Parks & Fairgrounds employee. If you are hardworking, team oriented, reliable, and customer service driven, this full-time position is a great opportunity!
You will be assigned to a crew performing a variety of tasks providing professional customer service and support for year-round schedule of events at the Evergreen State Fair Park. This position will work a swing shift Wed-Sun 2:30pm – 11:00pm and may rotate to support the annual Evergreen State Fair. Management reserves the right to adjust schedules as needed to support events and staffing needs.
A valid State of Washington Driver's License is required.
- Event setup, turnover, and customer support.
- Grounds and facility preparation and cleaning for and during scheduled events.
- Building maintenance and repairs, construction, carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry.
- Operate and maintain a variety of vehicles and construction equipment such as pickup trucks (with or without trailers), forklift, boom-lifts, light duty tractors, loaders.
- Snohomish County ambassador.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience in construction and maintenance work; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Must pass job-related tests.
Minimum Qualifications, Seasonal
High school diploma or GED required; previous experience in grounds and parks maintenance desired, OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- A valid Washington State Driver's License is required for employment.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card within one (1) year of employment.
- A written and practical field test may be required.
Knowledge
Equipment, materials, and tools for routine maintenance; hazards; safety rules and regulations; basic first aid; janitorial equipment, procedures, and supplies.
Ability
Understand and follow oral and written instructions; establish effective work relationships; interact courteously with the public; safely operate vehicles and maintenance equipment; use hand and small power tools; perform strenuous physical work; follow safety rules; fill out reports using CMMS.
The work involves manual labor with possible lifting up to 75 pounds. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions at sites throughout the county, including working require evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure public safety or property integrity.
