36h Contract Approved SICU ratios are primarily 2:1 and sometimes 3:1. There are certain patients with devices who are 1:1. This includes IABPs, impellas, CRRT and fresh open heart surgery patients. When we have triple patient assignments, the group includes lower acuity ICU patients such as our open-heart surgery patients or patients with minimal ICU care level needs. When we have patients who are awaiting transfer to our acute care units (known as "boarders"), we will group them in 3-4 patient groups.

We do float to our Medical ICU or our stepdown units. The Medical ICU has a higher number of boarding patients so it is common to take take 4-5 patient groups on that unit. Additional Info:
Travelers are required to have experience in Pulmonary Artery Lines, ICP, Telemetry, and Vents. Travelers on this unit will care for Surgical ICU patients including trauma and cardiac surgery. Hospital Highlights Type of Facility:
