Overview
Registered Nurse – Critical Care Transport (0.9
FTE Night), Everett.
Shifts start at 5pm or 7pm (12 hours). This position is based out of Everett.
Responsibilities- As an integral member of the Transport Team, the Transport RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by Washington State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children’s Hospital policies/procedures and guidelines of care.
- Responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport to medical care facilities, including the provision of basic patient care as well as advanced life support measures required to stabilize the critically ill or injured patient.
- Demonstrates proficiency in neonatal and pediatric critical care nursing and knowledge of the adaptations necessary for patient management in the ambulance or aircraft and during transit.
- The Transport Nurse must be familiar with ambulance and aircraft operating procedures and safety practices.
- Assists in meeting Seattle Children’s strategic goals by incorporating initiatives to support the strategic plans into daily work (e.g., Continuous Improvement and Innovation, ART).
- Serves as a team lead within the mobile transport team and may provide supervision and delegation to other Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, or Emergency Medical Technicians who are members of the mobile transport team.
- Must be available for call.
- Position may be based at Main Campus or at one of the off-campus bases depending on volume and efficiency.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years recent Critical Care Transport, pediatric critical care (PICU, CICU or other relevant unit), Emergency Department (ED) or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience, at a 6.FTE or greater.
- Current Washington State RN License.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Those without ACLS will be required to obtain ACLS during the orientation, but no later than three months from the start date within the position.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions prior to start date.
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- PALS. Those without PALS will be required to obtain PALS during the orientation, but no later than three months from the start date within the position.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP). Those without NRP will be required to obtain NRP during the orientation, but no later than six months from the start date within the position.
- Completion of an approved trauma course no later than six months from the start date within the position.
- For RN’s performing moderately complex point of care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement must be on record with Human Resources upon hire (as applicable).
- Records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency for personnel trained outside the U.S.
- Acceptable government documents allowing travel to and from the US or WA Enhanced prerequisites to hiring. Must maintain current documentation at all times and carry these documents on all transports.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Neonatal CCRN or RNC certification.
- Specialty certifications such as C-PNT, CTRN or CFRN.
$47.60 – $89.80 per hour
Salary InformationThis compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
