At Nursing Evolutions Pediatric Critical Care Houses, we actively pursue each patient’s health, function, and quality of life goals. We deliver care to medically fragile pediatric patients who have complex care needs, and we specialize in transitioning them from a hospital setting to the comfort of their home.
We are looking for compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with a Washington State RN license to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Per Diem Pediatric RN, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to pediatric patients who are ventilator and tracheostomy dependent and require G tube care. If you are a dedicated pediatric nurse seeking flexible hours and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations- Pediatric Care: Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, and G tubes.
- Ventilator and Tracheostomy Management: Administer and monitor ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and ensure proper suctioning techniques.
- G Tube Care: Administer G tube feedings and medications and monitor G tube sites for infection or complications.
- Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients and develop individualized care plans. Expect that you will provide your schedule availability on a continuing basis.
- Leadership and Supervision: During your shift, you are responsible for leading and supervising CNAs/PCTs and other non-RN healthcare professionals that provide service to our patients (OT, PT, School Teacher). You are responsible for providing guidance and direction to the team, implementing Nursing Evolutions policies and procedures, and communicating and escalating issues and recommended solutions with the RN Supervisor and Clinical Director.
- Delegation: Assign tasks and responsibilities to CNA/PCT based on their qualifications and the needs of the patients. Effective delegation helps ensure that patient care is delivered efficiently and safely.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring adverse reactions.
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor and document pediatric patient vital signs, respiratory status, and responses to treatments.
- Family Support: Provide education and support to patients' families, including training on specialized care techniques and addressing their questions and concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards. Provide nursing interventions safely and competently. Assure quality of care through development, implementation, and evaluation of professional nursing standards and participation in multidisciplinary quality assurance activities. Attend Nursing orientation, 50% of the RN meetings, and 100% attendance on training and education.
