What You Will Do:
As a Swiss Machinist, you will lead machine setups and operations while continuously optimizing processes and managing machine offsets. Working under general supervision, you will handle semi-routine assignments with the precision to identify and problem solve any deviations during the machining process.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation:
Set up tooling per work orders, load bar feeders, and operate machines efficiently. - Technical Precision:
Edit programs for better accuracy, manage tool/work offsets, and select/change appropriate inserts. - Quality Control:
Perform in-process inspections using shop tools and deburr parts to maintain production flow. - Documentation:
Audit shop documents and follow all standard operating procedures. - Safety:
Maintain a clean/organized workspace (5S), and follow safety protocols.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED or relative experience
- Trade school certification a plus
- Journeyman experience is a plus
- 5+ years’ related machining
- Communication and Teamwork:
Strong verbal/written communicator who collaborates, shares knowledge, and learns from others. Thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment. - Availability:
Excellent attendance with the flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required. - Judgment and Autonomy:
Self‑sufficient professional who uses experience to plan and achieve production goals. - Lean and Safety:
Solid understanding of Lean principles and a commitment to machinery and operational safety. - Technical Precision:
Skilled in reading blueprints, interpreting work orders, and using calibrated measuring instruments. - Problem Solving:
Analytically minded with the ability to alter simple programs and adjust codes to overcome material obstacles. - Attention to Detail:
Meticulous in following instructions and ensuring all production specs (size, type, quantity) are met.
- Stand for 8–10 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work comfortably in tight machinery spaces and around industrial chemicals.
- Swing Shift: Monday – Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm.
Please note the typical hiring range is $27.99 – $42.30 hourly plus shift differential. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
