The Fabrication Assembler (FA) Level 1-3 is responsible for building custom, finished aircraft component parts based on unique, customer-specific design requirements. This is not typical assembly line work; the environment emphasizes low repetition & high customization, requiring adaptability, craftsmanship, & attention to detail. Successful candidates will thrive in a prototype & development environment, with work complexity ranging from entry-level (Level
1) to subject matter expert (Level
3).

Responsibilities
  • Fabrication and Assembly: expertly fabricate & assemble interior panels & assemblies according to precise, program-specific processes. Manage multiple unique projects simultaneously, ensuring each meets stringent quality & customization standards.
  • Trim to Fit & Customization: precisely trim, shape, & fit components to meet unique design requirements, demonstrating advanced customization skills for complex assemblies.
  • Adapt fabrication techniques to accommodate varying materials & design.
  • Material Handling: work with materials like adhesives, resins, honeycomb core, carpet, fiberglass, & aluminum, cutting, laying out, & processing them.
  • Component Installation: install fittings like latches, hinges, & brackets, & prepare panels for adhesive application.
  • Finishing: apply decorative finishes, perform complex bending & assembly using jigs & fixtures, & create high-quality vinyl laminate layups tailored to each project's unique specifications & product combinations.
  • Tool Operation: utilize various shop power tools, including routers, table saws, band saws, drill presses, pneumatic tools, rivet guns, specialty grinders, & other fabrication equipment.
  • Quality Control: conduct visual checks, in-process rework, & maintain records.
  • Troubleshooting: identify fabrication & assembly challenges proactively, applying strong problem-solving skills to develop & implement effective solutions that maintain product integrity & schedule.
  • Following Instructions: accurately interpret & adapt technical drawings, specifications, & verbal instructions to deliver highly customized, precision-fit components for each unique program.
  • Maintaining a Safe Environment: adhere to safety protocols & maintain a clean work area.
