Position: REFRIGERATION MECHANIC - EVERETT

Summary
: A seafood Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration systems used in seafood processing and storage facilities. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, performing regular maintenance tasks, and ensuring that refrigeration systems operate efficiently and effectively. The mechanic may also be involved in installing new refrigeration equipment and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques is essential for this role.

The seafood refrigeration mechanic plays a crucial role in preserving the quality and freshness of seafood products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts regular maintenance tasks on refrigeration systems used in seafood processing and storage facilities, including inspecting, cleaning, lubricating components, and replacing worn-out parts.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses refrigeration issues to identify and resolve malfunctions or breakdowns.
  • Assists in installing new refrigeration equipment, ensuring proper placement, connection, and calibration; coordinates with other technicians or contractors to meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Monitors system performance to ensure efficient operation, including checking temperature and pressure, energy consumption, and identifying abnormalities.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards related to refrigeration systems, including handling refrigerants, maintaining records, and following safety protocols.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections; documents issues and generates reports as required.
  • Collaborates with other team members to address refrigeration-related concerns and coordinates maintenance schedules.
  • Assists with additional maintenance mechanic duties as time allows; performs repairs and replacements to minimize downtime.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and regulations while working with machinery and equipment.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and suggests modifications to enhance equipment performance.
  • Stays updated with industry trends and advancements in seafood processing equipment to provide effective maintenance solutions.
  • Conducts thorough testing and precise adjustments of equipment to meet performance specifications.
  • Performs minor building maintenance tasks.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training and following procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of environmental or safety incidents or risks in accordance with Environmental Awareness and safety trainings.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $35.45 to $37.70 per hour.
