Overview
The Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library is seeking two friendly and dependable Circulation Assistants to join our team. This part‑time position plays an important role at the Circulation Desk, providing courteous, efficient service while supporting the library’s vision to be the welcoming heart of the community — a place where all come to learn, discover, create, and connect.
Responsibilities include checking materials in and out, assisting patrons with self‑check machines, answering account questions, and providing basic directional and service information. The ideal candidate enjoys working with the public, demonstrates strong customer service skills, and is comfortable assisting patrons of all ages.
We are currently hiring for two positions, one which averages approximately 12 hours per week and one at approximately 16 hours per week

- Checks materials in and out
- Verifies registration information, fines and other charges
- Retrieves requested materials from stacks
- Empties book drops and book bins
- Directs the work of the Pages (shelvers) as needed.
- Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.
- Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position.
- Other duties as assigned.
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Basic computer skills, calculator, copy machine, cash register, other equipment as technology advances
